Seurat Labs was named for Georges Seurat, who was a French post-Impressionist painter. He is most noted for a painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”, which was an example of his new technique of pointillism. This started the Neo-impressionism movement in the 1880s. The technique uses color spots instead of a blending of colors on the canvas. The viewer’s eye then blends the colors optically to create an image.
 
We believe that nothing is as simple as it seems. It is our mission to “connect the dots”, so to speak, to build a full understanding of the very complex world that we live in. Without this full understanding, we are subject to developing solutions with unintended consequences. With the rapid pace of technology integration into our social and business systems, it is imperative that we apply holistic thinking with sophisticated technology solutions in parallel as we move forward.

Technology is moving at a rapid pace. We have all become addicted to social media and won’t leave home without our phones. We see everyday examples in which technology amplifies a message – cyber bullying and Go Fund Me campaigns are counter examples, in which the outcome can be socially negative or positive.
At a personal level, technology can service many of our needs and if applied properly it can offer win-win services to consumers and businesses alike.
However, policy and technology has or will have significant impacts at sector levels. These impacts often go undetected as they are higher level and slower moving impacts.
